CONNY LAGSTREOM (Swedish National)
Violation of the Anti-Child Abuse Law

        On February 20, 2012, Swedish National CONNY LAGSTREOM, who was in the company of a minor “MARIA” and while both were on board a ship bound for Masbate City, when apprehended by members of the Philippine National Police and Cebu Port Authority personnel.  Thereafter, our NBI-Region VII office assisted in the subsequent investigation.

        It was later disclosed by minor MARIA that she was frequently sexually abused and exploited by Subject CONNY LAGSTREOM, whom she fondly called “Uncle Conny”.  Mr. LAGSTREOM was consequently charged before the Prosecutor’s Office for violations of RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).  Accused CONNY LAGSTREOM later posted bail and thereafter released from detention.
