Qualified Trafficking in Persons in relation to the Anti-Child Abuse Act

            NBI-Region VII (Cebu City) received information that REDLIPS BAR Inc., at Gen. Maxilom Avenue, Cogon Ramos, Cebu City employs several female minors to cater foreign customers for the purpose of sexual pleasures.  Operatives of Region VII then conducted surveillance and verified the truthfulness of said information.

            On June 21, 2012, an entrapment operation was then hatched. In coordination with the DSWD, NBI Operatives together with foreign guests entered the said bar.  Subjects JANETH YOSORES BUGHAO (Manager) and GENEVIEVE DAWA BADIANG approached the operatives and offered the youngest girls to be tabled and asked them if they agreed with the price of the girls in exchange of sex.  Marked money was handed to the minor girls; which the latter will remit to the Subjects. Thereafter, an Agent gave signal to the operatives nearby.

            As a result, twenty-six (26) girls were rescued including the three (3) suspected minors. Subjects BUGHAO, BADIANG and SHIELA OHAO DEDICATORIA were arrested.

A case was filed before the Inquest Prosecutor of the Cebu City Prosecutors Office for Violation of Sec 4 (a, e) in relation to Sec 6 of RA 9208 (Qualified Trafficking in Persons) and in relation further to RA 7610 as amended by RA 9231.
